Skopje, 27 November 2024 (MIA) – Digital transformation is in the heart of our efforts for modernization, Minister for Public Administration Goran Minchev said Wednesday addressing the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA) Annual Ministerial Conference, themed “Next-Gen Governance: Driving Public Service Innovation in the Western Balkans.”
Minchev alongside his counterparts from the region discussed latest achievements in public administration in their countries.
“In today’s ever-evolving world, innovations are no longer an option, they are a necessity for a government committed to providing effective, efficient and inclusive public services,” he said.
Referring the country’s public administration, the Minister said the focus was on creating a solid basis for innovation aimed at reform and investment.
“An important achievement is the adoption of our Public Administration Reform Strategy, based on comprehensive evaluation of previous strategies. This strategy includes an innovative IT tool, designed to monitor and provide effective implementation of our reform initiatives,” noted Minchev.
Another key development, he said, is the progress made in digitizing our public sector.
“We’ve been preparing a comprehensive data base to align our national laws and bylaws with European Union standards, simplifying administrative processes and increasing transparency. Additionally, modernization of our archive and record management systems is under way,” stated Minchev.
According to him, to create a culture of innovations requires a long-term vision and unwavering dedication.
Minister Minchev called public administration “a driving force of development of our country and the EU integration process.”
“In the Republic of Macedonia, the reform agenda is a proof of our commitment to producing measurable results in aligning with EU principles. Our pledge for professionalism, digitization and increasing the efficiency of public administration is not only words on paper – those are concrete steps we make in the interest of our citizens and our future in the European Union. Our state policy is strongly focused on EU integration all the while preserving national integrity and identity, our national interests and the right of the Macedonian people to dignified European integration,” concluded Minchev.
