Deutsche Post to launch special postage stamp honoring David Bowie on his birthday
Bonn, 30 December 2021 (MIA) – German postal and international courier service company Deutsche Post has announced a special postage stamp on the occasion of the 75th birthday of the late British musician David Bowie. The postage stamp worth 85 cents will be available from Jan. 3, and shows a picture of Bowie with a guitar, said Deutsche Post spokesperson. In addition, from Jan. 7 there will be two package sets showing images of the legendary musician. They are limited to 5000 copies each. British singer/songwriter David Bowie died of cancer on Jan. 10, 2016, at the age of 69. Throughout his career he has sold an estimated 136 million albums, and ranks among the ten best-selling acts in UK pop history. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Bowie 39th on their list of the 100 Greatest Rock Artists of All Time and the 23rd best singer of all time.
