Despotovski: TIDZ fully implements budget, export at nearly EUR 3 billion
Skopje, 29 December 2021 (MIA) – The Directorate for Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) has fully implemented the budget for supporting companies within the technological-industrial development zones. Moreover, figures show that as of November, total export stands at nearly EUR 3 billion, director Jovan Despotovski told reporters on Wednesday, adding that final data will be published at the beginning of 2022. “Two companies met conditions in regard to hiring certain number of workers earlier than expected. Moreover, the country assisted several companies that had difficulties as a result of the global chip shortage,” Despotovski noted. According to an analysis into the past decade, Despotovski stressed that TIDZ has registered stable growth of profit and revenue, adding that the number of workers has increased and so has the average salary. “I’m optimistic that this will be a record year in regard to export. The number of job positions is stable and for the first time every the average salary in companies within zones will be higher than the national average,” he stressed. Despotovski also said that stakeholders are monitoring global trends. It’s in the best interest of the country for companies to continue to grow. Moreover, he underlined that companies that faced loss due to the global crisis, have balanced it with new capacities that are also contributing to their further development.
