Skopje, 10 May 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for good governance policies Slavica Grkovska has not received a petition from the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption about First Deputy PM and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, who used government facilities for political purposes.

Grkovska told reporters on Wednesday that as soon they receive the petition, it will be acted upon based on arguments, as with all petitions so far.

"So far we have been impartial, regardless of who is concerned," Grkovska said.

According to Grkovska, there is change in the behavior of some officials as well as an increased awareness, unlike before. She believes that the measures being taken will lead to a moment when someone will bear responsibility for negligent work.

"There is a change in the behavior of some officials, increasing awareness, but it is a matter of time, it does not happen overnight. I am sure that with the measures being taken, we will reach a moment when we witness someone taking responsibility for negligent work," Grkovska stated.

She does not agree with the statement that commitments are only declarative because, as she said, measures made possible by the Code of Ethics are concrete.

"However, it is not a law, there is no possibility for a criminal policy. We are talking about ethical measures, only that we as a society have not yet reached a point where ethical measures and the Code of Ethics have power to influence much more than the misdemeanor policies. We are still at a point where it is easier to pay a fine than to pay attention to our behavior," said the Deputy PM for good governance policies. ssh/nn/
