Deputy PM Dimitrov to attend conference on WB in Thessaloniki
Athens, 15 September 2021 (MIA) – Representatives of Western Balkan countries, including North Macedonia’s Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, are set to attend on Wednesday afternoon in Thessaloniki a special conference on the region titled "The Western Balkans join the dialogue on the future of Europe", organized by Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, MIA reports from Athens. The conference is taking place in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe. Aside from Deputy PM Dimitrov, the event will also be attended by relevant representatives from Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, as well as Slovenia, as current holder of the EU Presidency. Moreover, EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi will address the event, via video recorded message. The Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release that Deputy PM Dimitrov and other conference participants will discuss at the event the position of citizens of Western Balkan countries and EU on the future of Europe. The event will take place in the form of a closed meeting at the sidelines of the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair.
