DENES Award 2022 to present finalists at National Gallery
Skopje, 22 June 2022 (MIA) – The finalists for the 2022 DENES Award, including Darko Aleksovski, Ivana Mirchevska, Kristina Pulejkova and Zoran Shekerov, will be presented at the National Gallery of the Republic of North Macedonia on Wednesday evening. The organization Faculty of things that can’t be learned – FRU in collaboration with the Center for Contemporary Arts – Skopje; the YVAA – Young Visual Artists Awards network , the residency program Residency Unlimited (RU), New York, and the foundation Trust for Mutual Understanding, New York, is organizing the 16th edition of the DENES Award for young visual artists up to 35 years of age in North Macedonia. As part of the event, an exhibition of the four finalists and an award ceremony will be held on Thursday. The jury panel for the DENES Award 2022 includes Viviana Checchia, curator and researcher and residency curator at Delfina Foundation, London; Elena Chemerska (Skopje/Berlin), artist and winner of the 2021 DENES Award, Slavcho Dimitrov, researcher, theoretician, activist and curator of Skopje Pride Weekend, interdisciplinary queer arts, culture and theory festival; Nora Halimi (Tetovo), artist and lecturer at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tetovo and Lilia Kudelia (Kyiv/ Dallas), curator and art historian and guest curator at RU, NY.
