Decision over dismissal of SCPC head up to Parliament: anti-corruption commission

Decision over dismissal of SCPC head up to Parliament: anti-corruption commission

Skopje, 21 July 2025 (MIA) - A decision to terminate the office and dismiss the President of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) is within the competence of the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia, in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest. As stated in Monday's press release from the SCPC, resignation as a moral act is a decision and right of the Commission's President herself.

"Given that this specific case is about individual responsibility, the State Commission is working and will continue to work and exercise its powers designated by the Law on the Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest," said the anti-corruption commission.

However, it adds, in the interest of smooth operation and successful achievement of the purpose and competencies of the State Commission, the SCPC believes it is extremely important for the Commission to work in full composition.

The SCPC notes that the President of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, in accordance with the measures ordered by the competent court, has not been coming to work in the past period.

On July 18, 2025, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption filed an indictment against the President of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), Tatjana Dimitrovska, who is suspected of disclosing information considered official secrets to an unauthorized person accused in the “Additive” case during the period from May to December 2024. Additionally, Dimitrovska has been accused of unlawfully obtaining a classified information certificate after providing login information to an auditor from the State Audit Office, who passed the classified information test in her stead.
