'Decameron' to open 48th MOT festival

Skopje, 8 November 2023 (MIA) — Vojdan Chernodrinski Theater's "Decameron" directed by Martin Kochovski will open the 48th MOT Young Open Theater festival at Skopje's MKC.
The theater festival, which will run through Nov. 18, will present 29 events including performances, workshops, discussions, launches and lectures.
The festival's programming includes Zagreb Youth Theater's "The Brothers Karamazov" directed by Oliver Frljic; Slovenian directing duo Irena Z. Tomažin & Jule Flierl's "Hommage to Katalin Ladik"; the play "Gaia" by ErosAntEros from Italy as well as productions from Estonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Turkey and North Macedonia.
A masterclass on "The Hidden Role of the Producer" will be held by Dusan Pernat, the long-time producer and tour manager of the Slovenian Youth Theater from Ljubljana.
The MOT will also present its Bish award, established in memory of the festival's founder Ljubisha Nikodinovski Bish, who died last year.
The award is given to the best domestic production performed between two festivals. mr/
