Darko Bageski to give solo guitar recital at Philharmonic
Skopje, 15 November 2021 (MIA) — In a solo recital at the Philharmonic this evening, Macedonian classical guitarist Darko Bageski will perform works by Mauro Giuliani, Fernando Sor, Emilio Puyol, and Isaac Albéniz as well as Macedonian folk songs arranged for classical guitar.
Bageski studied the guitar in Skopje under Jane Penov and in Zagreb, Croatia, under Xhevdet Sahatxhija. He graduated from Franz Liszt Higher School of Music in Weimar, Germany, under Jurgen Rost. He did his postgraduate studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Thessaloniki, Greece, in the class of Gerhard Reichenbach, and earned a master’s degree under Costas Cotsiolis.
He has performed many concerts and recitals in Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Italy, Sweden, China and the USA, and has participated in seminars and master classes with world-renowned guitarists, such as Pavel Steidel, Thomas Miller Pering, Laura Young, Zoran Dukic, Aniello Desiderio, Nikita Koshkin, Ernesto Bitetti, Carlo Marchione, and Oddair Assad.
He is the president and founder of the Macedonian Association of Classical Guitarists, as well as the artistic director and one of the founders of the Tremolo International Classical Guitar Festival. He teaches at the Faculty of Music in Skopje.
