Skopje, 10 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov, met Wednesday with United States Ambassador Angela Aggeler, the Ministry said in a press release.

According to the press release, Ljutkov familiarized the Ambassador with the reformation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He expressed gratitude to the US Embassy and the Ambassador for the chance to use funds from the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation.

“The friendly relations between the two countries were affirmed at the meeting. Ljutkov and Aggeler agreed to visit Gligor Chemerski’s Freedom Monument in Kochani together, which is being preserved and restored with funds secured from the US Ambassadors Fund,” the Ministry said.

At the meeting, interlocutors also emphasized the importance of the American Corners (in Skopje, Bitola, Tetovo, Shtip and Struga), whose successful functioning, according to the Ministry, is further testament to the lasting partnership that exists between the two countries, and the commitments to the enhancement of cultural ties between the Macedonian and American people.

In 2025, the two countries will mark 30 years of diplomatic relations.
