Cultural and Information Center hosts 55 anniversary exhibit

Skopje, 15 December 2022 (MIA) — For its 55th anniversary, the Cultural and Information Center is putting on display a selection of paintings from its collection as well as posters promoting art exhibitions in its galleries over the years.

The Cultural and Information Center is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Skopje. Since it was founded in 1967, it has hosted over 6,000 art exhibitions, concerts, theater plays, literary readings, and other art performances by local and international artists both established and up-and-coming, organizers said in a press release.

"This year, on its 55th jubilee, has brought a change in the management of the institution [...] which has opened the doors for young painters, writers, musicians, and artists,” the release says, adding that the center has also reopened its city information sector that had been shut down.

In 2022, organizers pointed out, the center hosted two extensive multimedia festivals and promoted collaboration and networking with international cultural centers.

"Open communication was achieved with the independent cultural scene but also with cultural institutions [...] for the further cooperation at the level of a healthy artistic community, which will communicate and cooperate with each other in the years to come," the release says. mr/
