COVID-19 incidence drops by 40%, no changes needed of school instruction model: ministry
Skopje, 20 September 2021 (MIA) – The COVID-19 incidence rate in North Macedonia has dropped by 40% since the start of the school year (Sept. 1), compared to the virus’s incidence in the last two weeks of August, shows an epidemiological analysis of the Public Health Institute. “The Commission for Infectious Diseases has concluded that the school instruction model shouldn’t be changed according to the data and the dropping COVID-19 incidence rate,” the Health Ministry said in a press release Monday. The Institute’s epidemiological analysis covered preschoolers, pupils, high school students and university students. “According to age groups, the number of confirmed cases is the lowest among preschool and school-age children – only 3.9% of children aged 0-9 nationwide have tested positive,” said the press release.
