Covid-19: 6,734 active cases, 999 newly diagnosed, 14 deaths
Skopje, 17 August 2021 (MIA) — According to the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, 999 new cases were recorded from 7,245 tests done for Covid-19 over the past 24 hours in North Macedonia. Of the 999 new Covid-19 cases, 325 were diagnosed in Skopje. New cases were also recorded in Tetovo – 184, Gostivar – 132, Kumanovo – 79, Kichevo – 50, Strumica – 42, Struga – 33, Ohrid – 20, Bitola, Kochani and Berovo – 15 each, Prilep – 14, Kavadarci and Resen – 10 each, Shtip and Radovish – 8 each, Veles – 7, Delchevo and Valandovo – 6 each, Kratovo and Makedonski Brod – 5 each, Debar – 4, Kriva Palanka and Demir Hisar – 2 each, Gevgelija and Sveti Nikole – one each. Of the 14 people who died on Monday from coronavirus-related complications, 5 died in Skopje (aged 59, 74, 77, 79 and 84), 5 in Tetovo (aged 61, 64, 75, 76 and 78), two in Gostivar (aged 57 and 58), one in Kumanovo (aged 80) and one in Kichevo (aged 57). One of them died at home, and the others died in hospital. In the past 24 hours, 184 people recovered from the virus. At the moment, 6,734 cases are active nationwide, of which 2,246 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,073,017 tests, recording 163,452 Covid-19 cases and 151,144 recoveries. The death toll has reached 5,574. mr/
