COVID-19: 476 new cases, 524 recoveries, 9 die
Skopje, 1 March 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 476 new COVID-19 infections after 2,781 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 9 deaths and 524 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 270 were registered in Skopje, followed by Prilep – 25, Kumanovo – 24, Bitola – 21, Kavadarci – 18, Kichevo – 18, Gevgelija – 16, Veles – 13, Tetovo – 12, Gostivar – 9, Negotino – 8, Ohrid – 7, Struga – 5, Kriva Palanka – 5, Kochani – 4, Radovish – 3, Kratovo – 3, Strumica – 2, Berovo – 2, Bogdanci – 2, Demir Hisar – 2, Demir Kapija – 2, Resen – 1, Debar – 1, Probishtip – 1, Krushevo – 1, and Makedonska Kamenica – 1. In addition, 68 of the total number of new cases (476) are re-infections. Nine deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including three in Skopje (aged 62, 64 and 74), one in Kumanovo (78), one in Radovish (71), one in Kochani (82), one in Bitola (73), one in Kavadarci (47) and one in Prilep (86). According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, eight people died in period Feb.16-27. At the moment, 3,431 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,893,409 tests, recording 297,738 COVID-19 cases and 285,280 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,027.
