COVID-19: 1,964 new cases, 7 deaths
Skopje, 11 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 1,964 new COVID-19 infections after 7,724 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 7 deaths, whereas the number of recoveries is to be included in tomorrow’s report due to a technical error in the system, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 1,070 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 226, Prilep – 122, Kumanovo – 52, Ohrid – 51, Valandovo – 44, Radovish – 35, Veles – 32, Gevgelija – 31, Kavadarci – 29, Tetovo – 22, Kochani – 22, Gostivar – 21, Krushevo – 21, Struga – 20, Strumica – 20, Kichevo – 17, Kriva Palanka – 17, Resen – 13, Bogdanci – 13, Shtip – 12, Negotino – 12, Delchevo – 12, Sveti Nikole – 10, Kratovo – 9, Demir Hisar – 8, Berovo – 4, Probishtip – 4, Makedonski Brod – 4, Pehchevo – 4, Debar – 2, Vinica – 2, Makedonska Kamenica – 2, Demir Kapija – 1. Seven deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including two in Skopje (aged 82 and 87), two in Prilep (74 and 86), one in Resen (67), one in Struga (71), and one in Kriva Palanka (39). According to the ‘e-Appointment” Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, six people died in the period between Dec. 30-Jan. 8. At the moment, 12,333 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,672,767 tests, recording 236,241 COVID-19 cases and 215,853 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,055.
