COVID-19: 179 new cases and two deaths registered in past three days
Skopje, 12 September 2022 (MIA) - A total of 1,286 COVID-19 tests were conducted over this past weekend, recording 179 new infections, including 36 reinfections. Of the new cases, Skopje reported the most, 94, followed by Bitola, 16, and Kumanovo, 11. At the moment, 858 cases are active nationwide, including 377 in the capital Skopje. A total of 347 recoveries were also reported in the same time period, said the Health Ministry on Monday. North Macedonia in the past three days registered two fatalities, aged 79 and 86, who died in hospital. According to the e-registry of Covid-related deaths, four deaths were reported, aged 71-89. Their deaths are registered in the period from Aug. 25 to Sept. 1. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,158,164 tests, recording 341,583 COVID-19 cases and 331,213 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,512.
