COVID-19: 1,197 new cases, 331 patients recover, 12 die
Skopje, 4 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 1,197 new COVID-19 infections after 7,483 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, 12 deaths and 331 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 766 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 94, Prilep – 56, Kavadarci – 38, Veles – 31, Ohrid – 24, Gevgelija – 23, Kumanovo – 18, Resen – 16, Tetovo – 15, Shtip – 12, Strumica – 12, Kochani – 11, Kichevo – 10, Negotino – 10, Kriva Palanka – 10, Radovish – 10, Delchevo – 7, Valandovo – 7, Struga – 5, Bogdanci – 5, Gostivar – 4, Sveti Nikole – 4, Makedonski Brod – 3, Berovo – 1, Probishtip – 1, Demir Hisar – 1, Krushevo – 1, Demir Kapija – 1, and Dojran – 1. Twelve deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including three in Skopje (aged 55, 82 and 88), three in Bitola (60, 69 and 90), two in Ohrid (68 and 79), one in Prilep (68), one in Veles (68), one in Valandovo (41) and one in Struga (88). All of them died in hospital. Three more deaths were recorded from the My Appointment e-service. At the moment, 5,667 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,619,276 tests, recording 227,168 COVID-19 cases and 213,505 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,996.
