COVID-19: 107 new cases, 247 patients recover, 19 die
Skopje, 18 October 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Monday registered 107 new COVID-19 infections after a total of 1,668 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Nineteen fatalities and 247 recovered patients were also registered in the same time period, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.
Most new cases were registered in Skopje-83 followed by Prilep-6, Kumanovo-4, Kavadarci-4, Bitola-3, Negotino-2, Shtip-1, Kichevo-1, Kochani-1, Gevgelija-1 and Probishtip-1.
Skopje registered 12 deaths, aged 86-39. Kumanovo reported two deaths, aged 71 and 42, and one each was recorded in Bogdanci (70), Veles (73), Gevgelija (69), Kichevo (69) and Makedonska Kamenica (87). All patients died in hospital, said the press release.
Additionally, five more deaths were recorded in the register of COVID-19-diagnozed fatalities according to the My Appointment e-service, dated from Sept. 16 until Oct. 4.
At the moment, 6,759 cases are active nationwide, of which 3,447 in Skopje.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,344,538 tests, recording 197,197 COVID-19 cases and 183,474 recoveries.
The death toll has reached 6,964.
