COVID-19: 1,037 new cases, 36 patients die
Skopje, 27 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Friday registered 1,037 new infections and 36 fatalities after a total of 6,654 COVID-19 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Out of the confirmed cases, 386 were recorded in Skopje, the Health Ministry said in a press release, citing Public Health Institute data. Of the 36 fatalities, Skopje registered 11 deaths, Tetovo-8, Kichevo and Strumica three each, Kumanovo and Struga two each and Gostivar, Resen, Debar, Kochani, Veles, Valandovo and Makedonski Brod one each. The deceased were aged 24-85. In the past 24 hours, 534 people recovered from the virus. At the moment, 13,697 cases are active nationwide, of which 4,948 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has recorded 173,689 COVID-19 cases and 154,174 recoveries. The death toll has reached 5,818. A total of 1,137,629 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
