Skopje, 28 November 2023 (MIA) - The Council of Ambassadors said on Tuesday that it highly appreciates the activities of the Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior and other state institutions, who are making great effort to successfully organize the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council, which will be held in Skopje on November 30 and December 1, 2023.
"OSCE's role and significance is particularly highlighted in the context of the tense geopolitical situation in terms of security, caused by the military actions in Ukraine and Israel, and the risk of spillover to other countries or regions. Hence, OSCE and all members of the organization, especially the Chairpersonship and the country that will take over the Chairpersonship, must make intense efforts to revitalize and strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization, and actualize its role as a conflict preventer or mediator, facilitator or reconciliator of opposing countries," said the Council of Ambassadors in a press release.
In addition, the Council of Ambassadors notes that the opportunity to organize an event of such scale, which North Macedonia currently has as OSCE-chair, will be an opportunity to affirm the country and its democratic and organizational capacities.
"Given the significance of the meeting of foreign ministers and other delegations, a total of about 70, Skopje and the entire country in the following days will be the subject of interest of many journalists, news media, politicians and citizens of Europe and the world. The Council of Ambassadors believes that successfully organizing an event of such scale will contribute to the affirmation of North Macedonia's democratic and organizational capacities, and will be a credit to all citizens," the press release reads. ssh/nn/
