Skopje, 7 April 2022 (MIA) – Minimum expenses of a family of four in March amount to Mden 36,768 (EUR 597), said the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) on Thursday. “Since the start of 2022, the consumer basket has risen by Mden 1,000 (EUR 16.2) and by Mden 3,000 (EUR 49) compared to the same month in 2021. Biggest increase is seen in food and beverages, and transport,” says SSM. The State Statistical Office also released data today on the consumer and retail prices, noting that inflation in March stood at 8.8 percent compared to the same month in 2021, while retail prices increased by 9.6 percent. Compared to February, consumer prices rose by 1.6 percent, while retail prices by 1.5 percent.
