Skopje, 15 July 2024 (MIA) - As of today, movement in forests is banned from 6 am to 8 pm, and the ban will last until the wildfire risk has reduced, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy on Monday.

At the request of National Forests public enterprises, the Ministry has approved a complete ban on movement in forests and forest land due to increased wildfire threat and for the purpose of prevention.

Movement in forests will be allowed only by a written approval issued by National Forests subsidiaries for the area in their jurisdiction.

Individuals caught violating the ban are to be fined between EUR 1,500-2,000.
