Skopje, 1 August 2025 (MIA) – The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said early Friday it has registered a total of 13 wildfires across the country in the past 24 hours, of which 12 have been extinguished, and one is under control.
The wildfire burning on Goten Mountain towards the Maleshevo Mountain, in the Municipality of Berovo, has been put under control, CMC said.
In addition, the wildfires in the municipalities of Arachinovo, Gazi Baba, Gevgelija, Kavadarci, Karbinci, Makedonska Kamenica, Radovish, Zhelino, as well as four wildfires in the Prilep region, have been extinguished.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, head of the Protection and Rescue Directorate Stojanche Angelov urged the public to exercise extreme caution to prevent wildfires, especially during the Ilinden holiday.
"I appeal to everyone to exercise extreme caution during the Ilinden holiday, because a fire with catastrophic consequences can break out in an instant," Angelov said.
