Livigno, Italy, 13 February 2026 (dpa/MIA) - South Korea's Choi Ga-on stunned top favourite Chloe Kim of the United States to take women's snowboard halfpipe gold on Thursday.

Kim was leading with a top score of 88, but 17-year-old Choi came back from a hard fall on the first run to take the lead in the final run with a score of 90.25.

Kim had one more chance to retake the top spot, but she fell and couldn't improve her score.

The US snowboarder was bidding to become the first woman to win three Olympic gold medals in snowboarding after successes at Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022.

Bronze went to Mitsuki Ono of Japan.
