Charity performance of ‘Don Quixote’ at National Opera and Ballet
- The National Opera and Ballet will perform the ballet “Don Quixote” by Ludwig Minkus, choreographed by Victor Yaremenko (Ukraine), at 8 pm. The proceeds will be donated to help the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
Skopje, 15 February 2022 (MIA) — The National Opera and Ballet will perform the ballet “Don Quixote” by Ludwig Minkus, choreographed by Victor Yaremenko (Ukraine), at 8 pm. The proceeds will be donated to help the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
The ballet is conducted by Ivan Eminovikj. The set was designed by Andrei Zlobin (Ukraine) and the costumes were designed by Ghana Ipatieva (Ukraine).
The cast includes Hristina Nakjevska, Balázs Lőcsei (Hungary), Boban Kovachevski, and Simona Kolishtrkoska. Also performing are dancers from the children’s ballet department at Ilija Nikolovski Luj Music and Ballet School.
The ballet is based on the novel “Don Quixote de la Mancha” by Miguel de Cervantes.
It was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus and first presented by Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet on Dec. 26, 1869. mr/
