Skopje, 3 September 2023 (MIA) - The Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, kicks off an official visit to North Macedonia and the country's Army on Sunday. 

Admiral Bauer is set to visit the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defense on Monday, for meetings with Chief of the Army's General Staff, Lieutenant-General Vasko Gjurchinovski, and Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska, followed by a press conference. 

During the visit, the Chair of NATO's highest military authority will be briefed on the plans and the development of the capabilities of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the process of transformation and equipping, as well as with the participation of the Army in operations and training activities.

Bauer will also meet with President Stevo Pendarovski and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani. 

In addition, Admiral Bauer will visit the Skopje-based Ilinden barracks to attend activities of the Special Forces Battalion, while on Tuesday he will visit the "General Mihailo Apostolski" Military Academy and hold a lecture before members of the General Staff of the Army and the Military Academy.
