Skopje, 25 April 2024 (MIA) — Caretaker Minister of Labor and Social Policy Gjoko Velkovski met with representatives of the Mobilnost association of people with disabilities for talks on better social protection services, an official press release said.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, meeting participants said people with disabilities across the country had uneven access to personal assistance services.

"In the future, we will work together to improve the legal system and for these people to have access to increased rights and opportunities. Systemic solutions are the best measure we can leave behind," Velkovski is quoted as saying in the press release.

The country has yet to establish a registry of persons with disabilities that would lead to the creation of a appropriate social policy, so this database needs to be developed in the near future, the release adds. mr/
