Business delegations from North Macedonia and Greece meet in Thessaloniki for talks on boosting cooperation

Athens, 13 June 2024 (MIA) – A delegation of about 30 businesses from North Macedonialed by the Economic Chamber and 15 to 20 businesses from Greece will be taking part in Thursday's meeting at the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), to examine opportunities for expanding and strengthening the countries’ economic cooperation, MIA reports from Athens.
The TCCI announced it will host a delegation representing 30 businesses, led by the head of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia. They will hold B2B (business-to-business) meetings with Greek businesspeople to discuss ways to expand and open new cooperation.
The companies from North Macedonia include business officials from several fields, including trade, the industrial sector, hospitality, the energy sector, construction and the IT sector.
According to MIA's Athens correspondent, 15 to 20 businesses from Greece will participate in the meeting, which is the first such meeting in recent years.
The Economic Chamber of North Macedonia said the business forum is organized by the two chambers "in line with the priorities of the annual program of the Association of Balkan Chambers to deepen regional economic cooperation" as part of the project "Private Sector Regional Integration Support", which is implemented in partnership with USAID.
"The purpose of the visit of the Macedonian business delegation and the organization of bilateral business meetings is to further intensify economic relations between the two countries, and establish new, higher forms of cooperation, awareness of common business interests, development of future partnerships between companies from several different sectors according to expressed interest," the Economic Chamber said.
According to the official agenda, the meeting will begin with welcome remarks by the president of the Economic Chamber Branko Azeski and the First Vice-President of TCCI Emmanuel Vlachogiannis, followed by a panel discussion on the topic "Open perspectives and opportunities for cooperation: Ways to promote the economic and trade cooperation between Greece and North Macedonia".
Bilateral business meetings will also take place as part of the meeting.
