Bulgarian, Serbian health ministers visit injured Serbian children at hotel in Stara Zagora

Sofia, 15 August 2022 (MIA) – The Bulgarian and Serbian health Ministers, Assen Medzhidiev and Zlatibor Lončar, visited the Serbian children and adults who are staying at a hotel in Stara Zagora after Sunday’s bus crash on the Trakia highway, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports.

The two ministers have organized transport of the people involved in the road accident to the Bulgarian-Serbian border, where they will be taken in by medical response teams from Serbia.   Three resuscitation groups have left Stara Zagora for the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. They are expected to arrive there at noon, where they will be handed over to the care of the Serbian health authorities, alongside the Serbian health minister.   The injured Serbian children have already been moved to Sofia’s Pirogov Emergency Hospital to continue their treatment.    The road section where the accident took place last night on the Trakia highway is now open for traffic, and the Serbian bus has been removed. However, experts are to reinspect one more site to further look into the situation and causes of the accident.
