Sofia, 24 June 2022 (MIA) – The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sharply condemned on Friday the statement by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. According to MIA’s Sofia correspondent, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry stated that Bulgaria has always backed the European perspective of the Albanian people. “Bulgaria has upheld Albania’s European perspective and the launch of EU accession negotiations in the past, when it was much more difficult than it is today. The harsh qualifications in such a low language register can no longer be justified by the nature and lack of European communication skills,” said the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. It also adds that Sofia expects the Albanian Prime Minister to keep to a language fitting to a politician from an EU candidate country.
