Brussels, 24 June 2023 (MIA) - The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, had a call on Saturday with G7 Foreign Ministers to exchange views on the situation in Russia. 

"Ahead of Monday’s EU Foreign Affairs Council, I am coordinating inside the European Union and have activated the crisis response centre," Borrell posted on Twitter.  

He added that support to Ukraine continues unabated. 

In a televised address to the nation on Saturday, after the uprising by the head of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Russian President Vladimir Putin said it was a "betrayal" of Russia, adding that "actions to protect our homeland will be tough".
