Bekteshi: EUR 80 million EU support for most vulnerable groups, TE-TO to operate as of November
Skopje, 27 October 2022 (MIA) – The country will use the EUR 80 million allocated by the European Union as direct support to the most vulnerable groups and micro and small enterprises, said Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi on Thursday. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told a joint press conference with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Wednesday that EUR 80 million of the EU support package for the region would be earmarked for North Macedonia. Minister Bekteshi said the country’s proposals have been submitted to the European Commission and a response is expected by tomorrow. “We submitted our proposals to the EC, se expect a response by tomorrow, and the funds will most probably serve as direct support for the most vulnerable groups and micro and small enterprises until the end of the state of crisis that expires on April 30,” said Bekteshi. He added that cogeneration power plant TE-TO would be operational as of November 1, producing both electricity and heating energy.
