Skopje, 28 August 2023 (MIA) - The miners are our invaluable human resource, and mining is a fundamental branch for the country's industrial development. Based on current global developments, this industry will become a fundamental factor for survival and development, said Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi, on the occasion of August 28 - Miners' Day.

In his greeting to the miners, Bekteshi noted that the country has invaluable natural wealth, which is why, he wrote, "we should take special care of our deposits of mineral resources."

"Still, recently we have faced serious challenges in this field, especially from the aspect of environmental protection, which resulted in legal amendments that significantly strengthened the control over the work of the concessionaires, while on the other hand, facilitating investments for companies who want to invest in the industry while respecting and following the highest working standards, ensuring security for the miners," said Bekteshi.

The Economy Minister stressed that the Ministry will continue the planned activities in the mining sector, paying special attention to the field with the goal of sustainable growth and development, and by establishing partnerships with the people who work in the field.

"The Government sees it especially important for this branch to develop and ensure the country's economic growth, while also positively influencing every segment of society," said Bekteshi in his Miners' Day greeting.
