Skopje, 11 January 2023 (MIA) – Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi said Wednesday the Government is mulling all options when it comes to prices of basic food products, including the measure of price freeze.

Minister Bekteshi said prices have stabilized since the hikes in September and October, whereas some have even dropped.

“Let me reiterate, we have never said that prices would go back to the levels of 1-2 years ago but that prices of certain products would go down by 7-13 percent. Prices of some products have dropped, others should also follow suit. That is why we tailor various measures so that companies can take these decisions and lower prices. We are always talking about products that are manufactured in the country not the imported ones, since we do not have any impact on them except to freeze trade margins,” said Bekteshi.
