Skopje, 6 May 2025 (MIA) - The Skopje-based Appellate Court upheld an appeal by Asmir Jahoski, a suspect in a case involving suspicious procurement of oil derivatives for thermal power plant (TEC) Negotino, scrapping a detention order issued by the Criminal Court and accepting guarantees involving the mortgage of property in the value of EUR 986.000 and EUR 1.17 million in funds, while also introducing precautionary measures.
The Appellate Court said the appeal was deliberated at a closed session on April 6, 2025.
As part of the precautionary measures, the Court seized the suspect’s travel document and ordered him to regularly report at the Criminal Court in Skopje.
When making the decision, the Court said it considered a previous positive proposal by the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption – Skopje and an opinion by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office for the suspect’s appeal to be accepted with the offered guarantees.
The EUR 1.17 million provided as funds in the guarantee is equal to the presumed damage caused by the suspect in the case, according to the Court.
Asmir Jahoski, owner of the oil company Pucko Petrol, was arrested in March due to suspicious procurement of oil derivatives alongside, Ratko Kapushevski, owner of oil company RKM.
