Appellate Court rejects charges against Mijalkov in 'Titanic 2' case, other defendants get probation
- The Skopje-based Appellate Court on Tuesday rejected the charges against former head of the secret police, Sasho Mijalkov, in the case dubbed 'Titanic 2', due to the amendments to the Criminal Code.
Skopje, 14 November 2023 (MIA) - The Skopje-based Appellate Court on Tuesday rejected the charges against former head of the secret police, Sasho Mijalkov, in the case dubbed 'Titanic 2', due to the amendments to the Criminal Code.
As regards the other defendants in the case, who were former members of the State Election Commission (SEC), including Menduh Thaci, Sasho Srcev, Bedredin Ibraimi and Vlatko Sajkoski, the Appellate Court has modified the sentences to probation.
The 'Titanic 2' case is related to irregularities at the 2013 local elections in the Municipality of Strumica.
