Annual Vasilica concert at National Opera and Ballet in January 

Skopje, 3 January 2022 (MIA) – The annual gala opera concert marking the Vasilica (Old New Year) holiday, titled Viva l’Opera!, will be held on January 12-13 at the National Opera and Ballet (NOB) in Skopje, starting from 8 pm.

“The tradition, established more than 25 years ago, continues. This year, our audience will have the opportunity to enjoy performances of the most remarkable arias, duets and choir sections from world-renowned opera pieces composed by Mozart, Delibes, Bellini, Puccini, Verdi, Giordano, Leoncavallo, Kalman, Lehar etc.,” the NOB said Monday.

Bisera Chadlovska and Ivan Eminovikj will conduct the concert, Dejan Proshev is the director, Nino Mitevski designed the lighting, Kliment Todoroski is the concertmaster and Jasmina Gjorgeska is the choirmaster.

“The following opera artists will perform: Vesna Gjinovska-Ilkova (soprano), Sandra Mitrovska (soprano), Deshira Ahmeti-Krliu (soprano), Nade Talevska (soprano), Gjorgji Cuckovski (tenor), Boris Trajanov (baritone), Marjan Jovanoski (baritone) and Aleksandar Stefanovski (bass). The NOB choir and orchestra will perform as well,” said the press release. dk/ba/
