Skopje, 15 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski held a meeting Monday with the European Union’s Ambassador David Geer, which focused on the reforms on the Euro-integration path, with an emphasis on the digital transformation of processes.
According to a press release by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, at the meeting Andonovski underlined that digitization is a high priority for the Government, emphasizing that it would lead to efficient, accountable and responsible institutions.
“Andonovski added that for far too long there has been an uncoordinated approach to the issue which has made progress impossible, noting that this is changing through the systemic activity of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which includes digital infrastructure and connectivity, digital skills and competency, digital economy in the era of new ICT technologies, trust and security, as well as economic integration,” the press release said.
The development of projects within the Digital Europe Programme was also discussed at the meeting.
“The assistance coming from the EU is enormously significant for our country and is a signal of an efficient and effective overcoming of challenges during the integration process. Despite the numerous concessions that weren’t fully valued, we remain committed to fostering our shared values, democratic principles and the crucial partnership with the EU, which plays the most important role in the development of the country in accordance with European standards,” Andonovski stressed, as noted by the press release.
