Ana Ivanovska's 'Rubber Time' to open in Istanbul

Ana Ivanovska's 'Rubber Time' to open in Istanbul

Skopje, 15 April 2025 (MIA) — Macedonian artist Ana Ivanovska's "Rubber Time" exhibition featuring various media will open at the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Istanbul.

According to organizers, the art show is "a visual exploration of the consequences of global crises — pandemics, wars and political conflicts — on the individual and collective experience."

On display will be photographs, photomontages and installations Ivanovska has created to reflect her growing sense of uncertainty and isolation but also transformation, resistance and hope.

The show also contains paintings, sculptures, videos, and drawings.

"Her works explore the connection between nature, the individual and society, balancing opposites such as the micro and macro cosmos, life and death, the spiritual and the material," organizers said.

Ana Ivanovska (b. 1982, Skopje) has a doctorate in painting from the state university's Faculty of Fine Arts. She has been a member of the DLUM Association of Artists of Macedonia since 2006 and is one of the founders of the art group Art I.N.S.T.I.T.U.T. (2009 – 2011) and the group MOMI (2012).

She has had 22 solo and over 150 group exhibitions and has received several awards, including DLUM's Sculpture Award (2017) and DLUM's New Media Award (2020). mr/
