Veles, 27 May 2025 (MIA) - The country's future lies in the European Union and we are all working hard to achieve this, said EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas in Veles on Tuesday.
"The only thing I can say at this stage is to in fact repeat what EU High Representative Kaja Kallas said - North Macedonia and its future lies in the EU and we are all working hard to achieve this goal, so that the situation is unblocked," Ambassador Rokas told reporters.
He did not comment on the statement of President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, who told Radio Free Europe that Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger was ready to host talks on settling the Bulgaria dispute in Vienna.
"The only thing I can say is that a lot of diplomatic activities and visits are taking place at this moment, and this is welcome," said Rokas.
On the UK strategic partnership agreement, the EU Ambassador said he would not comment on the country's treaties with third parties, while adding that the Union has exceptional cooperation with North Macedonia in this field.
"The issue of migrants is a big one for the EU as a whole. I can say that the EU and North Macedonia enjoy excellent cooperation, and Frontex is also here. When it comes to Great Britain, the EU signed the strategic partnership agreement at the same time that you did. It is obvious that Great Britain is a good partner of the EU, and any agreement between North Macedonia and Great Britain is good for you as well," said Rokas.
