London, 4 October 2025 (PA Media/dpa/MIA) - World number four Amanda Anisimova needed just 58 minutes to dispatch defending China Open champion Coco Gauff and advance to the final in Beijing.

The Wimbledon and US Open finalist won 6-1, 6-2 as her fellow American and French Open champion struggled for rhythm, serving five double faults and hitting long or into the net countless times.

“I was just excited to play here in my first semi-final. I was able to put on a really good performance,” said Anisimova, who raced into 5-0 leads in both sets on her way to reaching her second WTA 1000 final of the year.

“I knew I was going to have to play really well against Coco if I wanted to get the win.”

In the final on Sunday, Anisimova will face compatriot fifth Jessica Pegula or Czech player Linda Noskova.
