Skopje, 11 November 2021 (MIA) - Alternativa MP Skender Rexhepi said on Thursday in front of Parliament that his position remains unchanged, that is, that “the current government should go in opposition.” “We’re here to vote to bring down this government and reiterate the position that it should go in opposition,” Rexhepi noted. In regard to whether the party would participate in a SDSM-led cabinet, the Alternativa MP said that they are currently fighting the battle to topple the government as the opposition. “Possible future offers will be discussed by party bodies. Right now, our goal is to bring this government down by midnight,” Rexhepi stressed. Regarding BESA MP Kastriot Rexhepi’s decision not to take part in Thursday’s Parliament session during which MPs were set to vote on the government no-confidence motion, Skender Rexhepi said he last spoke to him three or four years ago, when they parted ways at BESA. “Someone who has betrayed you once, will betray you again,” he added. Moreover, Rexhepi expressed regret over developments, saying that the aim was to keep DUI in power, but underlined hopes that things will change by midnight. “We believe it can happen, the deadline is midnight and anything is possible,” the MP said.
