All 15 burn patients hospitalized in Bulgaria in stable condition

Skopje, 24 March 2025 (MIA) — All 15 people injured in the Kochani fire who have been receiving medical care in Bulgaria are in stable condition, Bulgarian Health Minister Silvi Kirilov told bTV Sunday evening, according to BTA.

Kirilov said five of the 15 burn patients were under the age of 18. The oldest are two 30 year olds, he said. They are receiving treatment for their burns and inhalation injuries in hospitals in Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv.

Two of the patients are breathing on their own after being detached from a mechanical ventilator.

"We have two extubated, we can say that they are in good general condition, and those who are on mechanical ventilation are in serious stable condition," the Bulgarian news agency cited Kirilov as saying.

The March 16 fire killed 59 people and injured more than 170 when it tore through Kochani's nughtclub Pulse during a DNK concert. The fire was caused by pyrotechnics, which set the roof on fire. mr/
