Skopje, 6 June 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Minister of Information Society and Administration Aleksandar Bajdevski is the latest candidate to join the SDSM leadership race, the party said in a Facebook post Thursday.

“Today at the SDSM headquarters, Aleksandar Bajdevski submitted his candidacy for leader of the party,” SDSM wrote.  

Thursday, June 6, is the final day for the submission of candidacies for the race. Former Health Minister Venko Filipche, former Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska and the head of the Free Zones Authority, Jovan Despotovski, are the other candidates in the race so far.

SDSM is set to hold a congress on Sunday in order to analyze the electoral result, while the party's members will elect their new leader at direct elections on June 30.
