Albania condemns Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian regions
Tirana, 30 September 2022 (MIA) — Albania has condemned Moscow's decision to annex four Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories based on "sham referendums," MIA’s Tirana correspondent reports.
According to Olta Xhaçka, Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, official Tirana rejects the “sham referendums” organized by Russia in Ukraine and "it does not recognize the predetermined results."
“Any annexation of a country’s territory by another country as a result of threats or the use of force is a violation of the principles of the UN Charter and international law,” Xhaçka said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that "Albania stands by Ukraine and does not recognize the referendum organized by Russia in some of its regions." mr/
