Kiev, 21 November 2024 (dpa/MIA) - Air raid and missile alerts were triggered nationwide across Ukraine in the early hours of Thursday.
A Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missile was reported to have struck the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to state news agency Ukrinform.
The missile was said to have been launched from a MiG-31 fighter jet.
More specific details were initially not provided.
Shortly after, Ukrainian air defence issued a warning on Telegram about the possible launch of several Kh-101 cruise missiles.
These missiles, equipped with stealth technology, were likely fired from Tu-95 strategic bombers near the city of Engels in Russia's southern Saratov region, it said.
Further details were not immediately available.
Kiev recently marked the 1000th day of the war, launched in February 2022 by the Kremlin.
Moscow currently controls around one-fifth of Ukrainian territory, including the Crimean peninsula, which it illegally annexed in 2014.
