Skopje, 30 July 2025 (MIA) - Deputy PM and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski said Wednesday that the owner of Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall has paid a visit to Skopje, Popova Shapka and Ohrid in order to explore the country's investment opportunities.
Deputy PM Nikoloski told Kanal 5 that investors from the United Arab Emirates have been coming to the country since the Government team's visit to UAE in April.
"I believe we should open up to this part of the world, there are a lot of opportunities and room for cooperation," said Nikoloski.
Back in April, the Deputy PM said negotiations were under way with Air Arabia, adding that the focus is placed on tourism, infrastructure and education as sectors of cooperation.
“We’ve had many meetings, we will sign several economic cooperation agreements. We’ve been talking about direct connections, we already have an agreement with Fly Dubai for a direct Dubai-Skopje flight, which is to launch soon. We’re in talks with Air Arabia, too, to launch at least two flights, with one flight, I hope, to the Ohrid region so as to additionally boost tourism,” stated Nikoloski.
