New National Bank Vice Governors take oath of office before Speaker Gashi

Skopje, 9 April 2026 (MIA) - National Bank Vice Governors, Ana Mitreska and Igor Velichkovski, took an oath of office before Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi on Thursday.
The Parliament on Wednesday elected Mitreska and Velichkovski as National Bank Vice Governors with a seven-year term of office, upon the proposal of Governor Trajko Slaveski.

Ana Mitreska has been re-elected for a second term as Vice Governor following the initial appointment in October 2018. She holds a Master's degree in Monetary Economics and has more than 25 years of work experience at the National Bank.

Igor Velichkovski is a long-standing distinguished professional in the field of payment systems and financial markets. He holds a PhD in Monetary Economics from the University of Staffordshire, United Kingdom, and has been part of the National Bank for over 30 years.

Upon taking the oath of office, Mitreska and Velichkovski officially entered upon their management duties at the National Bank.
