Skopje, 15 August 2025 (MIA) - Due to a wildfire near Jazhince the Tetovo – Jazhince road by the village of Rogachevo has been closed to traffic, the border crossing with Kosovo has also been closed, authorities said on Friday afternoon.  

“At 3:15 p.m., traffic on the Tetovo – Jazhince road near the village of Rogachevo was halted by the Tetovo police for the safety of drivers due to the spreading fire in the area of the villages Rogachevo and Jazhince, which is close to the road,” the Auto-Moto Association of Macedonia said in a press release on Friday afternoon.

The Crisis Management Center (CMC) and the Interior Ministry confirmed the report, adding that the border crossing with Kosovo has also been closed. 

All firefighting teams from Tetovo and two specialized vehicles of the Protection and Rescue Directorate are on the ground and working to protect people’s property.

An Air Tractor firefighting plane and a helicopter are also set to be deployed in the fight against the wildfire.

Citizens are urged to avoid the area and to keep the roads clear for emergency service vehicles.
