Skopje, 24 September 2025 (MIA) - A total of 111 citizens have undergone medical screening following the fire that broke out in the village of Trubarevo. Of them, 11 will continue examinations at the Pulmonology Clinic, while the others showed no signs suggesting need for further treatment, Health Minister Azir Aliu said on Wednesday. 

The citizens referred for additional pulmonological examinations are older.

Aliu appeals to all citizens with symptoms including cough, headaches, shortness of breath, etc. to register for the screening as soon as possible.

"The screening of the population continues tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm, and if necessary, it will continue further because the goal is to include all citizens who think they should undergo screening or if they feel any symptoms such as cough, headaches, shortness of breath. I would ask those citizens to register for screening tonight. It is good to detect health problems earlier, so that we can treat them," Aliu said.

According to the protocol, the population screening should be done two more times, after three and six months, to see the effect of the pollution after the fire.
